I am not sure that ppl are reading the second half of your question...at some of the stated temps, they should have had damage...

@SomeMichGuy I agree with your observation.
@shortshortsgirl lol ty *bows* I have experienced some of the reported temps from within a warmish coccoon of layered clothing and still felt the sting & bite of the cold on any sort of exposed skin...

@SomeMichGuy this was with shorts on. I have seen much colder with clothes on. almost -60c without the wind.
@Hatt94 I am not surprised at the cold temps "with clothes on", as you say, but the amount of time you can be out (in the temps you stated) without having probs makes it difficult for me to accept that those were the temps where you were...not the reported temps from the nearest weather station, but the actual ones...

@SomeMichGuy you think the weather station is wrong about the temperatures? maybe a degree or two being off.
@Hatt94 lol no, I mean, given how quickly skin is damaged at extreme temps, I am wondering if your local situation was not the same as at the local weather station, if you were out for any length of time

you know, sheltered from wind, sheltered at all, etc.

@SomeMichGuy I was about 5km from the weather station at our airport. and I was not out for very long. I was walking around in a parking lot, so a little shelter from wind. but mostly out in the open.
When I worked up North(Arctic Circle) I had insulated coveralls on. we stayed out for a bit, but warmed up frequently.
