Seventeen weeks pregnant (this Thursday coming)

At 17 weeks pregnant, your baby bump is likely becoming more noticeable as the uterus moves up and out of the pelvis, often resulting in a rounded, "baby on board" look.

The bump is often more pronounced if this is not your first pregnancy.

Size and Shape: The uterus is expanding to accommodate a baby about the size of a pomegranate (approx. 13cm and 150g). While many show a distinct, small bump, it is normal to have a smaller, less obvious, or higher/lower bump depending on your body type, fitness, and prior pregnancies.

Physical Changes: Your waistline may start to disappear as the uterus pushes outwards. You may feel your belly is firmer, and you might start to feel the baby's movements—often described as light flutters or bubbly sensations.

Common Sensations: As the bump grows, you may experience skin stretching (leading to potential itching or stretch marks) and an increased belly size. Your center of gravity is changing, which can impact posture.

What to Expect: Your clothes, particularly jeans, will likely feel tight or uncomfortable. Some women may start experiencing Braxton Hicks (practice contractions) or notice a faint dark line (linea nigra) appearing on their belly.

Note: Every body is different, so if you are not showing much yet, it is generally perfectly normal at 17 weeks.
