At 14 weeks pregnant, you're in the second trimester, and your baby, about the size of a kiwi or orange, is growing rapidly, developing facial expressions, starting to swallow fluid and urinate, and showing more fluid movements, though you likely won't feel them yet.

You might experience increased energy, reduced morning sickness, and an appetite, while your baby's placenta is now fully supporting them, and you should focus on exercise like pelvic floor exercises and a healthy diet.

Your Baby's Development
Size: Roughly 3.5 to 4 inches (8-9 cm) long, similar to a kiwi or navel orange.

Features: Head is becoming rounder and more proportionate, facial muscles allow for expressions (frowning, squinting), eyebrows and hair are growing, and ears are formed.

Functions: Practicing breathing, swallowing amniotic fluid, urinating, and developing facial expressions.

Movement: Movements are smoother and more fluid, but still too small for you to feel.

Support System: The placenta is fully developed, providing nutrients and oxygen.

Your Body & Symptoms
Energy: May see a surge in energy as hCG levels drop, but fatigue is still possible.

Appetite: Appetite often increases, a good time to eat healthy.

Body Changes: Breasts may be less painful, sex drive might return, and you might notice new skin moles.

Common Pains: Round ligament pain (sharp cramps on the side) is common as ligaments stretch.

Nosebleeds: Increased blood flow can cause nosebleeds; drink water and keep nostrils moisturized.

What To Do
Exercise: Gentle exercise, like walking and pelvic floor exercises, is great for energy and preventing leaks.

Nutrition: Focus on iron-rich foods to prevent anemia.

Work: Consider telling your employer to get maternity rights and workplace risk assessments.

Listen to Your Body: Rest when you need to; growing a baby is hard work.
