But what if they come out looking like uncle Charlie?

There are also dominant and recessive genes to consider. My wife is full of dominant genes. Mine are mostly recessive. Our kids don't look like either of us. ..I see one of her brothers in one of our fraternal twins though. They have the same smile

I'm my mother's second born but my dad's first born. I look exactly like my father at certain times in his life. People say my little sister looks like a female version of me. I don't see it. I've never seen that kind of resemblance between her and I. I've never seen any resemblance between her and my father, and neither of us have that kind of resemblance with our mother...neither did our older sister (RIP)

Our male identical twins don't look like either of us, but they do strike a uncanny resembelance to their cousin who is a girl on their fathers side... Our daughter is a mini me, yet very much resembles her dads genes that all of her dad and uncles and cousins look a lot alike, it's the blue eyes and that smart girl nose! Then our youngest son doesn't look like anybody in either of our families, though very handsome growing up he was considered the twins triplet, he does resemble the twins but not their female cousin.

My oldest sibling looks like my mother, so??
In fact, most of us girls do with a couple of exceptions (6 girls) and two brothers, look like mom's side of the family, with the other boy looking like dad's side, so I call phooey
