Why is breastfeeding overly sexualized?

I really don't get it, or the backlash I get for breastfeeding in public. Even with a cover. It's ridiculous.

You actually get backlash for it? My wife tries to be extremely discreet more so to avoid people trying to check her out than worrying about backlash

@Turtlepower Yes, unfortunately. I even have a cover, and try to be tucked away in a corner. I have other children, so having a stranger come up and make a scene over something natural like breastfeeding gets overwhelming.
