A Poem for My Babies
My body is once again growing life
Not just one but two
My breasts are full and dripping when I hear them cry
My expanding womb stretching me taut
My boys, one on each breast
Cooing as their eyes flutter
And my milk rolls out the corners of their mouths
As they fall asleep in my arms
Milo made me a mama
Quinn showed me how much my heart can burst with love
My girls, growing inside me
Bubbles in my belly as they move
Soon I will labor and roar
To deliver them into my arms
Four pieces of me
Four pieces of my heart
Each birth has taught me so much
I didn’t know how deeply I can love
I didn’t know what wonders I can create
Until I became their mama
Not just one but two
My breasts are full and dripping when I hear them cry
My expanding womb stretching me taut
My boys, one on each breast
Cooing as their eyes flutter
And my milk rolls out the corners of their mouths
As they fall asleep in my arms
Milo made me a mama
Quinn showed me how much my heart can burst with love
My girls, growing inside me
Bubbles in my belly as they move
Soon I will labor and roar
To deliver them into my arms
Four pieces of me
Four pieces of my heart
Each birth has taught me so much
I didn’t know how deeply I can love
I didn’t know what wonders I can create
Until I became their mama
