Tough Love Gone Wrong

Nothing wrong with tough love but when that tough love from a parent has to do with causing physical harm to your child then that is wrong. I just overheard a daughter saying to her mother "Why would you put that in front of my door when it is dark I tripped over it.I coulf of been hurt!" And I overhear the mother saying something close to "I am tired of repeating myself to you about putting things back where they supposed to be etc and if anything you would have to go to the hospital if you gotten hurt." I feel like the mother could of just easily told the child to put whatever she used back or just leave whatever alone and give the child a chance to put it away later.Poor excuse of a mother I'd say.

If I'm understanding correctly, it's the daughter that left it there, right? So it's her own fault she tripped over it. The parent didn't hurt her and did tell her to pick up after her self several times. Like my mother would tell my brother over and over again "don't touch the stove, it's hot." He'd keep on trying over and over again until finally he burned himself and learned that maybe there's a reason he should listen to her and stopped trying to touch the stove. Sometimes telling your kid something isn't enough.
