I've seen a few.
Most are just kids showing off.
But there are a few that are quite well put together!
I guess it depends why they want to do it.
What they want to get from it.
I can see the idea of showing your friends your vacation video or birthday party etc.
an interesting way of keeping a diary of life events important to you.
And you can always disable comments on them.
But as with all social media. You never know who's watching or why they'd be interested.

My kids want to make one. They watch other kids' channels and I think it's okay as long as a parent is very involved.

Good point. Only if they are aware of the consequences but seems unlikely that they would.

Nop but unfortunately they all do! School makes them Google account and they can easily open their YouTube channel!

No. I proceed cautiously with regard to the internet.

Since there is really no way to keep skeevy adults from watching them, my personal feeling is no. Not a good idea.

No. I am so glad YouTube videos weren't a thing when I was growing up. I can't imagine having all the embarrassing things I used to do being immortalised online

Some of my son's friends have them and now he wants to have one . I'm not comfortable with it . I can't help but wonder the pedo's out there watching this ...the thought of that is enough to say ....um , no you're too young and have the rest of your life to make one ....I do let him watch kid YouTube ...he is also allowed to make pretend YouTube videos ...he records himself and it never gets on YouTube ....I hate internet culture ....ugh

I keep everything my son has on my phone ..his accounts are on my phone so i can check. I see everything he does. He wants to make video game videos and i let him. He is 10.
If you keep saying no due to pedos you will eventually have to keeo him locked up inside. Wdicate hin on safety o line and add the account to your own device so you can monitor.

The other thing is too many parents think their child is a STAR ... People are raising little narcissists ....
