If your teen were to hit/punch you what would you do?

Note: This is a what if scenario. Assume YOU the parent did nothing to provoke this, and your teen was just upset over typical teenage stuff. Also, assume YOU the parent have always been a good parent.

Would never happen, and never did after three children grown up, they respected me and feared me, despite never hitting one of them. Maintaining a strong mental discipline with them, they love and respect me still, now even though they are grown up. It requires a mental strength.

@Squiggymonster69: I am happy you escaped your children's second toddler years without being hit.

One of my daughters ONCE hit her sibling, I dragged her up stairs, I told her in no uncertain terms the only person who has the power and privilege of raising their hand to anyone is ME! And even I don't do it. Never had any hitting in the house again ever. Terrified her.
