Did you have a dad that could say "I love you" to you?

Did your dad say "I love you," when you were growing up?

To be honest, mine did, but he was so much like the examples in these songs lyrics especially when I was in my teens and there were many many times when an "I love you" would have been the best thing he could have done for me.

🎵For the longest time, I guess I thought
He didn't give a damn
Hard to read, hard to please
Yeah, that was my old man 🎵

😂 😂 😂

🎵I try to make him proud of me
But my mistakes was all he'd see
It always seems so hard to please the rock🎵

So question did your dad say "I love you" or did he never utter those words or he did just not enough?

No. I know my real dad loved me in his own way, but I never really knew the guy, and my step dad flat out told me he would have a better quality life if I wasn't part of it, Hell I was only nine at the time too! Boo hoo hoo!

@puck61: That's sad I would have never married had my husband been indifferent to my child. My children come first.
@hami1091: Luckily, the last time I saw my step dad, the meeting was friendly with no animosity. He collapsed and died suddenly while chopping firewood at 73 years of age.
