Did you have a dad that could say "I love you" to you?

Did your dad say "I love you," when you were growing up?

To be honest, mine did, but he was so much like the examples in these songs lyrics especially when I was in my teens and there were many many times when an "I love you" would have been the best thing he could have done for me.

So question did your dad say "I love you" or did he never utter those words or he did just not enough?

yeah he did. he had a dad that never said i love you to him, and he was determined not to be like that.

@AliceinWonderland: Mine had an abusive father growing up, and tried hard to not follow in his footsteps, physically he did a great job at not being like his own dad, verbally he got a little extreme at times, as for "I love you" it seemed easier when I was little for him to say as I got older he did, just much rarer but now that I am an adult he tells me almost daily lol :D
