Reasons why parents are tougher on teenagers than younger kids?

Like the parents makes the 5 year old a sandwich and see how cute he or she is but when the teen asked to make them a sandwich, parents are like, "Who do you think I am? Your maid. Make your own damn sandwich! You're old enough!"
They always ask teens about assignments and being sick you can't always stay home. I rather be 5 again than 15.

Not tougher just expect them to be a little responsible at 15 but if I am not busy and one of my kids asks me to make them a sandwich even at 17,15 and 13 I will make them one little things like that aren't a bother to me, I'm kind of happy when they ask for help and I feel [i]still[/i] needed

🤔 maybe it is a maturity level thing. You know, older kids knowing more than younger ones.
