Made it to the weekend again 🙃

Naya is passed out on top of me again lol. It's funny people are always surprised that I get my daughter 4 days every week but the entire reason I work 4 nights is so I get 4 full days with her. Yeah I be tired sometimes but I don't care it's worth it 🤷 sometimes dudes even call me "lucky" for not having to pay child support which is even funnier 😅 when you actually have your kid all the time, your "child support" is you actually raising your kid. I feed her, bathe her, play with her, & spend time with her more often than her mom does & I always have even when we were together. That's not a diss towards her mom though. She works 4 days a week so she only gets 3 days with Naya. Still 4 nights though. It's technically equal. People just aren't used to a dad working a full time job & still having so much time with their kid I guess. I set it up like this on purpose because I wanted my daughter as much as possible. Some people say I'm lucky. Idk, I might agree. But I work hard every day. It's not just luck.

I didn't realize it was Father's Day in a few days though. Naya's mom asked if I wanted my gifts now or on Father's Day & I was like wtf I didn't expect anything... that's sweet 🥲 But yeah I'll wait

That certainly is an advantage from what it once was.

My father only had me two days a week, with two solid weeks in the summer. Still had to pay both child support as well as alimony.

Technically not even two days, since I went there on Saturday morning and left Sunday night.

Dad technically held two jobs (double shifts), mom only one. So sometimes I was at work with him.

The oddity of the situation was both worked nights. Yeah early on I was at babysitters. Later after the 5th grade I was a latchkey kid.

@DeWayfarer damn, yeah your dad must've worked a lot. I mean I don't have a fully established opinion on it but it does kinda suck how alimony ends up being a thing after marriage. Idk maybe I'm simple minded but I feel like every human should be able to take care of themselves & not put the cost of their livelihood on another person simply for getting them used to living a certain way. Your mom didn't have to have a second job because your dad continued working hard to make sure she didn't have to. Which is a good thing. But it's unfortunate that it meant he had to sacrifice his time spent with you personally.

I do think I'm lucky that I was able to figure out a schedule where I have my daughter so much. I think that's what people mostly mean when they call me lucky. Because yeah it's not an easy thing to do I suppose. I mean I work hard to make it happen but I'm still lucky

@ChiefJustWalks Oh I know very well how hard my father had to work. Yet most Czech people his age worked very hard...

The term "robot" Isaac Asimov derived from the same Czech word. Meaning to work tirelessly.

You're a hardworking good dad and it's actually Naya who's lucky. She's a very lucky little girl who has two good parents. I would have loved to have that, myself, as a little girl. She will reap the benefits for the rest of her life.

Happy Father's Day, Chief 😊

@faery thank you 🤗 it's not even fathers day yet lol & it feels like tooting our own horns to say Naya is lucky but yeah, she is. Both of her parents love her & will always do the most for her. Her mom is super smart & cares a lot about health & I do too but I'm definitely more the type who will give her things her mom won't let her have. Or let her do things her mom wouldn't let her do 😂 but I'm still super careful. I just had a childhood where I didn't get cool things or get to eat fun things so I love giving her all that within reason. & Surprisingly she still seems to listen to me a lot more it's kinda bothering her mom lately 😅
