Not quite the 'just-after-a-month', but not far off actually. Yes, we did the same but with a babysitter (a literal 'babysitter'! Lol!) and, whilst myself and my other 'arf were only a few miles away there was that thought still lingering.

What I do remember vividly is that at one point we had loosened up so much that we were actually having F-U-N for something like 20 minutes, realising that, and then felt guilty...then catching ourselves feeling guilty for feeling guilty! Nuts!

Short term? Odd..a little scary, but for no reason whatsoever. Mid term? Good for both my and my partner to acknowledge the 'separate entity' and not just an extension of ourselves. Long term? Started us all on the road of socialising, of others...and of trust.

So...good for child development....good for parent development....good for relationship development...a healthy thing, all around.

Sure...you'll look at your phone...sure...some of your date 'chat' will be about your child...all very natural.

Go out...enjoy!

SJD xx

Your husband is right. It will be good for both of you.

I had to leave mine and go back to work at 6 weeks old. It was not easy at first but she was in very capable hands. All turned out well.

Good advise from both comments below, so enjoy some you time and feel in safe hands with your baby sitter. Your in-laws must be the best carers for your child surely.
