I am on Quora and wanted to share with y’all something I wrote there.
There was a question: “what is your favorite love story that spans decades?”
My answer:
“Gosh… I was really blessed to grow up surrounded by love stories that have lasted decades. Not only did I have amazing parents with an incredible, long-lasting relationship, but I also have two sets of grandparents who showed me what real, steady love looks like.
But if I had to choose my favorite, it would definitely be my parents. They’re incredible people and such strong role models. They taught me and my sister what love should look like—how to respect your partner, how to communicate, and how to truly care for each other. They never argued or raised their voices in front of us, always treated each other with so much love and respect, and made it clear we should never settle for anything less than what my daddy shows my momma.
Honestly, theirs is the greatest love story I’ve ever witnessed.
And I can’t forget my in-laws either—they have such a beautiful relationship too. They’re honestly so sweet together, and I think my husband grew up with amazing examples of love, which probably has a lot to do with the kind of person he is today ❤”
I really and truly pray Kyson is able to grow up and say this about me and John. 💙
