My toddler has hit the “no!” Phase..

Her: *hits her sibling*
Me: no ma’am we don’t hit can you tell them you’re sorry and give them a hug
Her: no! *grabs toy and hits sibling with toy*
Me: okay let’s go to time out then
Her: No!
😐 obviously I didn’t let her get away with it but the no phase is so fun… not 🙄

Also we are working on teaching her gentle hands but she’s stubborn so it’s taking awhile

In the UK (England) "Reasonable punishment" is allowed like a soft slap on cheek, for example. Obviously parents do it but will NEVER admit to it nor do it in public places. Hit cannot leave a mark nor physically hurt the child so a soft slap gets their attention. Holding their wrists and speaking to them angrily too sets disciplinary actions.

@Sazzio never understand that logic hitting to teach not to hit just sounds so ironic
