My parents were the worst on earth. My childhood was rife with all abuse but the sexual kind. I tried to make peace with them for years to no avail. When I finally realized in my early 30s that I didn't need their approval, I cut them both loose and never went back again. They're both long dead now. Best thing that ever happened to them.
