What makes a dad so important in children's lives?

I have my own theories but curious to see yours. I've met several really good parents on this site.

A father doesn’t have to be perfect—his presence, guidance, and effort to be involved often matter more than anything else.

@Fertilization no one is perfect us as mothers aren't perfect at everything. As long as the father is a safe father and cares for the kid then yes he is welcome on the kids life

@MiraRoss what if he only wants to be a dad on his time? Not as a general. I think that might confuse a child

@WoWgirll that's negativity something a kid doesn't need can decrease there mental state like my babies dad did. It's not wanted at all
WoWgirll · 36-40, F
@MiraRoss it's a receent issue of a otherwise absentee person

I think it's guilt not the child. Does that make sense?
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
@WoWgirll not having the father involved makes me feel guilty in a way that I didn't give them the dad the deserve but I also want my kids to feel safe and secure so if the father brings negatives I try do right by them what's in my kids best interests not mine or the father but my kids

@MiraRoss it's tricky man

@WoWgirll it is definitely. We all want what's best for our kids but life likes to test us so much
