Yes my mother is the Queen of guilt trips now that I am grown they have little effect on me.

This behavior was constant by my mother up to the point where I refused to be tormented on that level in my 50's, and left that relationship, to save my sanity. We wouldn't put up with that from a friend, would we? Then why would we tolerate that from our own flesh and blood? Just because a person has the label of "mother", doesn't mean they are one, nor that we have to be subjected to such abuse. And I didn't allow myself to feel a bit guilty over it. I still don't miss her. She was never even a friend.
