This kid is everything πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

She has come so far from the nervous little girl I adopted. She had spent two years being abused and had no confidence, flinched constantly, barely ate a thing and had so many tantrums.

2.5 years later… She’s 10 now, she loves travelling more than anything, she just got her scuba diving license in Bali, she is the best big sister to her new baby brother, she has so many friends, she is top of her class in multiple subjects and she is adored by her teacher. She accepted my partner from day 1 and has decided he IS her dad and loves him beyond words (the feeling is mutual!).

Not everything has changed. She’s still the smallest in her year, still has tantrums, still has nightmares and still goes to her therapy sessions. But we have come so far!

Today I got to go and watch her do a presentation at school to the entire assembly. 5 kids from the class got to present their projects. The only prompt they got was β€œOur planet is amazing because…”

My kiddo did the cutest project about scuba diving and the underwater world. She told everyone that sharks are friendly, talked about the life of a clownfish, and how octopus are so smart. She’s seen all 3 when she went diving with daddy and included some photos from our trip.

I cried during and after. Can’t believe how amazing my little fairy is πŸ’–

It really is wonderful to read this. Hopefully with the trauma being further & further into her past, so will the nightmares & tantrums.
