generally, when I tell my family even the most superficial emotions I feel they're like "huh ?" or "ok"

Same and I kind of noticed I turned out just the same. I have no idea how to react when someone comes to me with their emotional problems. I must appear as if they talked to a stone.

@wackidywack It's also strange to watch my mother getting more emotional as she's getting older because the tables have turned in a way. At some point I wished more emotional support when I needed it and was not understood and was made to feel like I overreacted. Now I get the impression some emotions I've always known are new to her and so it's a bit hard to empathize and not see it as overreacting, therefore refrain from downplaying. It's all strange. At this point I would say I'd rather be one losing shit than being around someone else going through that.

My parents would generally get angry with me if I was ever visibly emotional.. now I have a drinking issue and can only be emotional when I'm drunk 😅

@wackidywack Actually all my emotions become anger, so it's not like I can't show emotions, it's just that whether I'm feeling sad or anxious for example, I just seem irritated to people around me. I know some other people have issues expressing anger too. 😕

If I told my mum how I felt at any point she'd have told me how my feelings made her feel and then that became the new topic of conversation 🙄

my father once was like you never tell me your feelings, i explained him my suicidal tendencies and his reaction was like "that's stupid"

@popmol I have a sister and a brother, they're dismissive to us all which is something my siblings and I have unfortunately learned from them although I'm pretty aware that it doesn't happen to me all the time, only when I'm not myself
