What's the difference between being a strict parent, and an abusive parent?

@Mamapolo2016 If I can also give you the best comment, I would. This was extremely well said, and it only took you two sentences. Considering my personal background, being raised by my immensely abusive father who has contributed to almost all of my trauma, I have recently realized that he was self-loathing and out of control. To this day, I find it hard to forgive him for causing me so much pain.

If I could have one wish, it would probably be to stop abuse. Of anybody by anybody.
