Were you taught as a child to express your feeling ? Or repress them ?

Honestly, I was taught that as a child I hadn't lived long enough to have any "informed" opinions about anything; my role was to silently observe and learn. My parents were not (and are not) bad people, it's how they were raised. They're much less rigid as grandparents.

But wouldn't it better if they teach us to speak our feeling or opinion in a good manner then teach us how to handle it ? Ah well.. they'd probably know it by now, and our childhood has passed anyway.
