When I was little It took me no time to recognize the differences between my home and other homes.
A good loving and healthy family is not a myth. That does not mean there are not issues inside every family. A normal family has some issues.
But my family was abusive and not healthy at all.
Most of my time was spent at my friends homes so that I could feel safer.
I believe that this is what helped me understand that my life was not normal. Or good. I am glad I had safe spaces and that my friends families were willing to have me as their bonus kid.
