Scared of something. Leave a little night light on and play soft, relaxing music.

Who knows what goes through a child's mind at times . Their world is so small and sometimes the smallest of things can wreck it . Just be there to comfort and reassure them ,that's the most important thing to a child . Feeling loved and cared for is very important to a child .

we had this issue with my son when he was about 2 or so...my daughters shared a bedroom, and of course the wife and I did, but he was the only one that didn't, and we would find him in the hall sleeping between my daughters bedroom and our bedroom. So, I told this problem to a friend, and she said that "everyone has someone in their room with them except him"..it made sense, so, this was during the cabbage patch craze, we got him a boy cabbage patch we named Joey, and he kinda treated Joey like a little brother..after that, he always stayed in his own bedroom and slept all night...

I was like this when I was a kid.
I was afraid of the dark....whatever unknown, malicious but non existent creature that could be lurking in the dark. Watching scary movies as a kid gave me that fear. It gave me severe depression and fear of "what could be out there"...Eventually I grew out of it though....and didn't even need my night light anymore 😇

He could be watching some scary things on TV. Or someone may have frightened him, and it's still causing him anxiety. For a small child, just seeing a frightening image, or overhearing a troubling conversation, can contribute to needing added reassurance. He might have had a bad dream which is still on his mind, too.
