I think my mother thinks I still beat my wife

Several months ago she came up with a hypothetical scenario where I hit her in front of our kid and she just pointed out that her premier has increased the number of beds in women shelters because there's been a spike in domestic violence these days. 🤔

Oh and btw, I have never hit my wife, nor have I ever drawn back on her, nor have I ever had to stop myself from hitting her, nor have I ever been tempted to hit her. Oh yeah, and I haven't beaten her either. The title is a pop culture reference to American TV.
