Why do some mother's baby or spoil their sons?

My dad's gf sons live with us and they don't pick up after themselves or clean the kitchen after they dirited it even their room is dirty and she doesn't scold them or anything.

Cultural standard, maybe? Guys don't cook and clean and girls don't spend their lives working every day type of thing? 🤷🏾‍♂️
