Should my wife and I start trying for second child?

Our daughter is now 15 months old

My 3 kids are 17 and 1/2 months and 2 years apart, respectively. Young adults now and still practically best friends. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ but I don't know if it always works out that way.

I don't think that's a decision you should crowdsource from strangers on the internet

@SW-User im trying to get idea if the age gap is about right from what others have done. It is something we have been discussing but thank you for your concern

I had a 21 month age gap and a 10 year one, both great ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป @Kerrmit84

Two to three years difference is good.

My two girls were 8 years apart, that worked well for me.

Are you financially prepared, emotionally ready to begin the new challenge of taking care of two on different schedules, personalities etc

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit financially we would manage. Emotionally ready i dont know hoe to know that. I don't know if its possible to know that

@Kerrmit84 well how I always ask myself is I put myself in the mindset. I erase out all the positives so I can focus on the negative and see how would I handle these. So letโ€™s think youโ€™ve got one child whoโ€™s used to the attention of you both whenever. Now you have a small new baby and they of course need you frequently between the crying, changes of diapers and spit on clothes, feedings, etc Naptime May be at different times so thereโ€™s not much time for a break. Thereโ€™s less sleep for you both, more budgeting is being done, typically as a family grows unless the parents work together at a job thereโ€™s increasingly less time spent together as a couple ( at least for a while) So thereโ€™s definitely lots to consider. Weโ€™re are talking impacting 4 lives. Definitely something if being questioned should be throughly thought out. If looking at all the realistic challenges that are typical to come with this change look manageable to you. Iโ€™d say go for it. If though they feel a bit worrisome then perhaps take more time to consider what you want. Either way congratulations on the family you do have and maybe the family you could have.
