Are you more like your mom or dad?

@rckt148 Geez, I thought my parents were bad, i can't imagine surviving that. My mother never hit us, it was just dad which is why i also joined the army after school to get away from him. It sounded like your mom would bully anyone who got in her way. Hope you finally managed to get away from her for good.

I took care of her and supported her the last 14 months of her life
I took care of Dad the last 3 yrs of his
I learned one thing from Dad that matters about anything else
Forgiveness ,holding resentment for others only hurts you
They have not given you a second thought ,,being mean to people is just what bullies do ,,I forgave her ,I turned out to be kind like Dad
not mean like her ,,she was bipolar ,so I cut her slack for that

@rckt148 Sounds like a good way to be. I did something similar with my dad. I was terrified of him growing up but i learned as i got older that he mellowed and his anger was really just him trying to cope with my mother's nagging and controlling behaviour. Him and i finally really bonded much later in life. I was really happy about that.

@TerriG that's a good thing. My parents treat me well when i don't drink alcohol. Otherwise they love my siblings more. 😝
