As a parent, do you occasionally monitor your son/daughters phone? Why do you or don’t you?

[c=#BF0080]Yes, there are some sick people out there.. I recently briefly checked messages on Instagram and saw one from April of a HS senior trying to meet up with my then 8th grade child 😑 She did well. She told him she had a bf and even if she didn’t it wouldn’t matter because he was way too old for her to hang out with. He proceeded to tell her he wanted to be more than friends and she ignored the messages. Then over the summer while in college now, he tried to get her to meet with him as friends. She ignored every message after telling him in April that he was too old for her. I wanted to message him to leave her alone and something else I won’t say here, but I don’t want her to start deleting things. I felt she did the right thing, but it still makes me sick a college kid is trying to hook up with 14 year olds. I’d love to set him up and get him caught 😒 [/c]

Yeah, I can’t blame him. If anyone did something like that to my daughter, her daddy would end him. @MellyMel22

@MrsKatherineArch [c=#BF0080]My brother and father are just as protective as her dad. These guys have no idea what they’d be in for 🤣[/c]

Yes.. not in an invasive manner but just to know if conversations are healthy and is not of any abusive or harassing in nature...

And I was quite happy with his linguistic skills... something we cannot impart.

@in10RjFox oops.. most importantly .. I never react instantly to what I read or take immediate action for that would portray me as prying into his privacy.. instead I take subtle actions over a period .. like bring him back to right track..

My kids didn’t have internet access on their phones until they were 16. At that point I had to trust them. Looking through their phones trying to catch them at something would have hurt our communication which was always good.

No-but only because she is four and doesn’t have one yet. 😉

Lol😊😊@MrsKatherineArch
Absolutely. Mentally damaged sick bastards are always prowling to abuse youths.

I monitor their devices regularly.

Nope I did not, privacy is a right and until you give me reason to not trust then you get your privacy.
