I Believe Parenting Is The Hardest Job Anyone Could Ever Have

I believe this is so true. When I was younger I thought it would be easy to raise a kid. I thought I could be a great parent and the kids would do what I wanted them to if I treated them with respect. I was sure they would treat us with respect also.

THEN I had a few kids and realized that the parenting gig is a bit harder than I ever thought it would be. Our 12 year old feels it's okay to constantly get upset everytime we tell her no. And believe me it's not like she grew up not knowing what the word no was. There have been plenty of times we have said no and that is perfectly fine. But lately it seems everytime we say no it puts her in a tail spin and we can not even discuss what she is asking logically. I hear 12-16 are the toughest years for girls and parents but good lord I'm not sure if we will make it till she is 16.

@Ninersfan73 I am sure you will cope fine. Hang in there! :-)
@Ninersfan73 try to tell yourself that it's not her own doing. She's growing up. Body is changing. She can't control some changes and you know that comes with mood swings. Being a female is hard...

@juiceyangel333 Yeah I don't think I would have handled being a female too good. 🤣

@Ninersfan73 Females always baffle us males!

@juiceyangel333 Oh yes with every fiber of my being. There is nothing I would not do for them! However they will learn respect and know that treating people with respect goes a long way!
@Ninersfan73 it's a personal choice I think, but I think she will get there... Oh and watch her friends too. They have plenty of influence

@juiceyangel333 Good point about her friends - peer pressure
@SW-User yeah that's the age where you want to fit in...
