Is raising a child free of gender roles a good idea?

@basilfawlty89 When talking about gender (as opposed to sex), it's really as question of whether one identifies as masculine or feminine.

@Sharon ah, see I'm not that clued up about proper terms, but I'm learning. Most trans friends I have would say they identify as a man or a women, or non binary.

@basilfawlty89 Transgender is simply where a person's gender expression (masculine/feminine) doesn't match the one assigned to their sex (male/female). It's complicated by the fact that gender is a social construct and the definitions of masculine and feminine vary with time and culture.
