Have you ever had one parent try to poison you against the other?

It's a strange thing to experience. It also lets you see how that particular parent really feels and what they're willing to do to get their way.

I don't know if this counts, but I remember one particular time when my mom tried to make me feel bad about being too much like my dad. But instead of poisoning me against him, it made me feel bad for him. I started to realize that he was being picked on by her almost as much as I was, though I don't think I'll ever know what she has put him through, and continues to put him through.

@TeresaRudolph71 I think the kind of behavior your mom exhibited often backfires...eventually.

@DrWatson Eventually, yes, though she usually behaves very differently toward my sisters and my nieces and nephews. But I suppose the truth comes out eventually.
