Have you ever had one parent try to poison you against the other?

It's a strange thing to experience. It also lets you see how that particular parent really feels and what they're willing to do to get their way.

My wife had to deal with this during the years before her parents' divorce. After the divorce, she rediscovered her Dad and re-established a relationship with him, after she was no longer seeing him through her Mom's lens, so to speak. In fact, while she had felt closer to her Mom than her Dad, that eventually reversed.

@DrWatson I'm in a similar boat believe it or not. Sure, my dad is no saint, but a lot of the crap I've been hearing about him has been exaggerated. Didn't help that he was the breadwinner for most of their marriage and often worked overtime.
