How much effort do you expend explaining/justifying rules to your kids? On a scale of 1 (none) to 5 (as much as they might demand).

Depends on the situation...and their age, I've found.
Sometimes, I'm quite forthcoming with explanations. Other times it is just: "because I said so, now hush!" lol
