Are parents suppose to tell it like it is?

Both my parents are honest and unapologetic. I can count on them to be honest. They tell us the truth when we wanna hear it or not. They can be blunt and be offensive but I know they wouldn't lie to me. They're not afraid to tell me what I DON'T wanna hear. My dad would tell me, "Life is hard and it's suppose to be hard. It gets you to work harder."
My mom said, "It's okay to make mistakes. We're suppose to make mistakes. That's how we learn in life and you can't expect to live in a would without making one."
Those are examples of things I DON'T wanna hear. I HATE making mistakes, get angry and want things to be perfect and adult life isn't what I expected.

Yes, parents should be as honest as they can be with their children. Like when teaching mine to drive I tell them not to expect perfection because even the most experienced drivers make mistakes. And yes, we all make mistakes as we travel through life, but hopefully we learn from them.
@liondog true. I can't trust a lot of people. I get lied to a lot
@DxNxA Amen but I hate then sometimes

Mistakes are part of life; I am stubborn too, but it is in mistakes we learn.
@SW-User I hate makimg mistakes. I can't believe my mom said we're suppose to make them. That make me uncomfortable and she don't care. She don't care about people's feelings. She tells it like it is even when people dislike her.

@PoppyLoveLala Your mum telling you that we're supposed to make mistakes and learn from them doesn't mean that she doesn't care. She's trying to get you to understand that we all make mistakes and that nobodies perfect.

@PoppyLoveLala Sorry you find that, and I don't know how your Mum expresses it. Mistakes are part of life, and she might even be making one, or how you are taking her words (or both). I only know, I got myself to broken spaces, on my own, and in a way, while you can find every reason to put it onto someone else, and sometimes that holds a candle in truth; that rarely matters, and you can only do what you need for yourself.
I don't understand why they wouldn't. And that includes the truth about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

@quitwhendone They are after the health of their daughter.

You are stubborn.
@SW-User They don't need to hurt us like that.
SW-User
@PoppyLoveLala how old are you?
@SW-User Under 20.

Nothing is perfect. For example, there are no straight lines in nature.
