How many grandparents????

Wait...I just thought of something,

If we all have at some point 4 grandparents at least, regardless whether they are alive.

Our parents both had 4 grandparents aswel, meaning we have 8 great grandparents,

Then 16 great great grandparents

Then 32 great great great grandparents

....damn, that's crazy when you think of as ancestors are your specific family line

I know the names of 31 out of 32 great great great grandparents. Only one of them has the same surname as me, yet each of them could have been equally influential in my genetics.

@uniglow it's crazy eh, that means if we went 1000's of years back, we would be related to a stupidly large amount of people

@HeWhoLaughs Here's the weirdest thing. If you go back 1000 years, and assume 25 years is a generation, so 1000 years is 40 generations, that equals 1.1 trillion ancestors, but the world population was only about 300 million.
