Parents always trying to one-up their children

I assume parents who do this are insecure. Anytime their kid is kicking @$$ at something their parents try to push them down or disencourage them. It's quite pathetic and disgusting on the parents side.

They really do. People who guilt their own kids for succeeding at anything suck.

@TwiddlerofThumbs Its like you'd think that they would be happy and even prideful to have a happy successful child. I know I'd be filled with joy knowing my son/daughter made the best out of their lives.
@HermannFegelein My sister in law, her parents are this way. She has a very successful older brother whom they have pitted themselves against. They cant be in teh same room together. His parents are just assholes to him and that is why. They cannot get over that he lives a good life and is fortunate enough to have a lot more money than they do.
