Is it wrong that I don't want to go to religious family events?

I was raised Catholic but I found that I had a better way of life if I forgot about God.
I have always said that I am an atheist since the age of 16.
I know that most of my family is still somewhat religious but I just feel to uncomfortable when being asked to go to a church to watch a child being indoctrinated into a cult.

I suggest you not be a militant atheist. Mutual respect is better. I'm an atheist but attend family events in houses of worship all the time. It's not a big deal.

@Fukfacewillie I can get where you are coming from but I would just rather ignore my family and relax with friends.

@Sroonaka616 If you do not want to not see them so be it -- my only point was that it shouldn't be because they believe in God.
@Sroonaka616 So, do. There is nothing wrong with that.
