Do you believe in tough love?

I don't believe it works in all circumstances but I can give u 1 where it worked for a guy I know. He finally realised that although everyone in his family loved him. They could not help him until he reached his own rock bottom. Helping him kept him addicted. Tough love forced him into a position of total rock bottom. Where the only way was up. Or out if he'd decided. Thankfully he didn't.
