How were you disciplined growing up?

My parents didn't hesitate to use corporal punishment if they felt it was necessary (and in some cases it really wasn't). I could never do that to my kids if I had any.

I was spanked over Mom's knee, by hand or later with her brush. Then at 10 I was "too old" for that so she switched to grounding and time in my room "to think about what I had done."

I greatly preferred the spanking as it was over and done with.

@Tripdelta4 My last ones from her at 10 and they were doozies. Maybe she was trying to make the memorable? Time in your room meant no books or radio and of course there were no computers. You had to stay on the bed and be silent.
