How were you disciplined growing up?
My parents didn't hesitate to use corporal punishment if they felt it was necessary (and in some cases it really wasn't). I could never do that to my kids if I had any.

My dad used to beat me with a slipper until I was 16. My mum used to ban me from using the internet plus ground me , stop my pocket money and send me to bed early which was more effective than the beatings. My dad also made me do chours and if I did them all right and pass the test he would let me come downstairs for a few hours.

@SW-User My parents made me shovel our long driveway if it was winter time, sometimes they would either ban me from going out or playing video games, or they would have me clean our entire garage. I think those punishments were definitely more effective for me.
