Why is it bad if you’re past your due date?

My moms friend is at the hospital and they’re trying to induce labor, she’s 9 days past her due date. Nothing is happening.

Why is that bad? She’s my age, it’s her first child and as far as they can see the baby is not in distress.

They couldn't induce labor so they sent her home for the weekend. She has an appointment today to make sure all is well. @Vivaci

@GlitterBug That's what they did to me. Tell her to go for an epidural and stress on cesarean. They're pushing for a normal delivery, these idiots....

I'm pretty sure they'll have no choice but a cesarean. They couldn't induce it, her body isn't letting it happen. @Vivaci

The mother cant decide what she wants to do. It's her first child, we're getting the impression she's nervous. @Vivaci

I went through hell and in the end my hubby wasadked to choose in between me and my child. ....a question no person should have to decide. When my son was born he was a [big]flat baby[/big] ..no heartbeat.

And I had lost too much blood...I was unconscious for 12 hours.

Please warn her ....
