Why is it...

Men don't get as involved in looking after the baby as the mum does.... Is it normal that they question there choice of having a baby in the first place

From my understanding, Mira, it's either wired into our DNA or the socio-biological conditioning. While it's true that there are some men who have a Mrs. Doubtfire affinity to parent and nurture children, quite a few don't. Men from the dawn of time have impulses to procreate then defend what is theirs, such as family or community. This doesn't include changing diapers and a host of daily care activities that a growing child needs from a parent.
