Why do people post pics of themselves 10 years ago and expect us to believe its what they look like now?

I can see that most of SW is using pics from ages ago

I think people judge a lot based on looks, and people worry a lot about being judged, and so might present themselves in a way that might be more likely to be accepted, perhaps?
