Unfortunately it only takes one “shit head” to put the kids in the middle.
I can’t speak for everyone’s reasons but in my experience, our kids were the last bit of leverage and control he could have over me. They were the one thing he knew he could use to hurt me.... simple as that. His anger and need for vengeance overpowered everything else...even protecting his own kids. It’s sad and disturbing all at the same time.

@aaaabbbb thank you, I made it thru (thanks to my big girl panties 😂). My ex lost all custody rights and the kids are doing great. My oldest was most effected and has matured a lot since then. I never bring up the years when he was under his dads influence and refused to see or talk to me. But, sometimes he’ll say something that tells me he sees the truth now. Both boys love their dad and even though I don’t have to legally, I still allow them to see him whenever they ask. Thankfully they don’t ask very often.
