I’ve never understood why some spouses behave in a way that attempts to destroy someone they supposedly once loved. The effort of one parent to alienate children from the other spouse is a continuation of the desire to destroy the ex-spouse AND, they think, to set the children’s love for themselves in stone. What happens sometimes is the child matures enough to know what actually happened, and the one who worked to alienate them now experiences it herself/himself.
