Where is a fun place you'd take your child when they won't tell you where they want to go?

My 12 year old niece says she wants to do things with me. It's the summer, so perfect timing. We went to the circus recently as she did not know what they are about. She wanted to go skating once, and we did. I asked her the other day where she wants to go, what she wants to do for the summer " I don't know". I asked more than once, but I get " I don't know" as a response.

In the past, I had free tickets to go to the zoo. I offered to take her. "it stinks at the zoo"

Again, this is my niece, not my child, so I may just let her sit at home all summer long. Doesn't want to do anything.
Kids are sad these days. Want to stay inside and play computer games and watch youtube videos.

When I was a kid, you couldn't PAY me to sit in a house all day.
