When I was a kid it was damn near impossible to ground me after age 9 or so. Before that I would choose spa king over grounding because I wanted to be outside

It depended on the infraction. Switches, belts, spatulas, paddles, shoes, hair brushes, cords, hand...it was always awful and never resulted in my improving my behavior. It taught me to sneak around and it taught me hatred. And defiance.

@updown2020 It depends on who was spanking me. Mostly my mom spanks over the knee and my dad spanks bending over touching my toes. My parents use hand, ruler, yard stick, wooden spoon and have recently started using a leather belt and a paddle with holes. I still get spanks.
