Yes, because I was separated from my family as an infant I was taken into care by my paternal grandmother.
My sister and two brothers remained with my biological mother.
My grandmother hated my mother so whenever my siblings tried to visit when they grew up as older children my grandmother treated them very cold rude distant and she curtailed any lengthy visit they wanted to share with me.
It was like a Hatfield and McCoy situation my grandmother hating and fighting with my mother and her parents.
It was terrible and it kept fence up between my siblings and myself.
As the years went on and I married and moved away from my grandmother I was finally able to make contact and establish a relationship with my sister and brothers.
Yes now after all these years I still feel sad and teary when I see anything on TV showing a family getting along together.
I wonder how our lives would have been if my parents had stayed together and raised us as a family.
It is especially hard for me when the holidays come and I watch programs on TV showing families re-uniting to enjoy the holidays together
Long ago I thought when I was older these feelings would fade but they didn't
It all just got worse for me
It never ends

@Starrysky I know how that feels when one family member causes you to lose touch with the ones you love. 😥
